About us

• History:

  We started in 1985 tracking objects (vehicles mainly) using radio based direction finding. This was done using doppler direction finding products and the hardware used was developed by ourselves. This gave us the automotive electronics experience to design and manufacture robust systems.
  
  As GPS receivers started to reduce in cost, we started to use these receivers in a radio based tracking system. This is based on the APRS principle, and is still available, but due to it's limited range and licencing issues, it is not our main product line.
  
  More recently, we have have moved to using the GSM network as the preferred method of getting the positional data back to our servers. In doing this, we are not restricted by the limitations of the radio networks, as well, as providing us with the ability to track and locate assets internationally.
  
  We only use GPRS as the communication medium, and have developed our own servers, protocols and web interface. For more information, take a look at the Products page.
